Bill Gilbert, a long time, retired KYPipe colleague, passed away February 28, 2026. Bill was a good friend of Dr. Don Wood and Dr. Srini Lingireddy for many, many years. Dr. Wood and Bill also shared a love of the great game of golf. Bill contributed to the early programming and development of the KYPipe software. He was with KYPipe for his whole career, from graduation in 1984 from the University of Kentucky under the tutelage of Dr. Wood, until his retirement.
His tech support assistance to thousands of KYPipe customers endeared him to people from around the world. Because he was present for most of the history of KYPipe, almost no one was more knowledgeable about the software than Bill. When I came on board in 1998, in spite of the fact that Dr. Wood was my father, Bill was my main mentor. He was always so patient and knowledgeable. I learned numerous tech support sleuthing skills from him. I wish Dr. Wood could have added to this remembrance, but I’m glad I am able to honor this expert colleague and friend to the whole KYPipe family.
