Appendix 0 – Problem 42
A0.42 Consider a 300m long 400 mm diameter 30-year-old DI pipeline with an estimated Hazen-William roughness coefficient of 75 laid on a horizontal terrain and carrying water at a flow velocity of 2 m/s. If the pressure head at the upstream end of the pipeline is 50m, compute the pressure head at the downstream end. [Answer: 42.745m]
