A0.40 In the previous questions, the friction headloss between points A and B was calculated as the difference in total energy per unit weight at points A and B or the difference in energy grades at points A and B, i.e., ΔH = EA – EB. Under what circumstances the difference in hydraulic grades (instead of energy grades) could be used to compute the friction headloss between any two points in a pipeline carrying steady state flow.
